RansomHouse Orchestrates Cyber Attacks on Three Italian Companies in 24 Hours
RansomHouse has been behind a series of cyber attacks targeting three Italian companies, raising significant concerns about the security of critical infrastructure in the affected enterprises.
Details of RansomHub Attacks on Cloud Europe and Mangimi Fusco
Cloud Europe, a four-tier certified carrier-neutral data center located in Rome’s Tecnopolo Tiburtino, was one of the targets. The company specializes in the design and management of data centers, with a strong focus on security and service continuity. RansomHub claims to have encrypted Cloud Europe’s servers, leaking over 70 TB of data, and stealing more than 541.41 GB of sensitive information.
Mangimi Fusco, an animal feed manufacturer also targeted by RansomHub, allegedly had 490 GB of private and confidential data stolen, including customer documents, budgets, payroll, accounting, contracts, tax information, identification, and financial data. The ransomware group demanded a negotiation period of three days.
Details of RansomHouse Attack on Francesco Parisi
RansomHouse is also accused of infiltrating the website of Francesco Parisi, a freight forwarding and shipping agency group based in Trieste, operating in Central Europe since 1807. The ransomware group claims to have stolen 150 GB of data from the company on May 29.
Developments Related to the Cyber Attacks
Despite these claims, Cloud Europe and Mangimi Fusco’s websites appear to be functioning normally, with no visible signs of ransomware attacks. However, Francesco Parisi has posted a disclaimer on their homepage acknowledging the cyber attack, assuring that immediate measures have been taken to restore operations and protect user data. They are actively investigating the incident and implementing additional security measures to prevent future attacks.
Summary
While the claims of ransomware attacks on the three Italian companies remain partly unverified, the incidents highlight the ever-evolving cyber threats and the growing prevalence of ransomware attacks. Companies need to bolster their security measures, including installing firewalls, antivirus software, Managed Detection and Response (MDR), deploying SSL certificates for websites, and email security certificates to build robust security defenses, protect network and data security, and prevent malicious ransom incidents caused by service disruptions or data breaches.
